Yahaya Bello Meets Obasanjo Solicits Support

As the momentum for the 2023 general election gathers, the governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello has taken his presidential ambition to the Formal President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo for support.

The meeting which was held in Abuja on Sunday, sources told Nationalwatchng, was not unconnected with latest drum for support for Bello’s president ambition come 2023.

Governor Yahaya Bello, has refused the call for a South presidency come 2023, stating the Nigeria should search for president based on competence and not ethnicity.

He made the statement on Saturday, while speaking with some Nigeria ex-international, including Jay Jay Okocha, Ifeanyi Udeze, Taribo West and others.

Gov. Yahaya said, “Both north and south do not know boundaries when it comes to football and other sports. So, we are appealing to Nigerians to look beyond religion and ethnicity. For once, let us get one person who will fix this country irrespective of where he comes from and then the rest shall follow”.

In a statement made available the governor Bello Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Mohammed Onogwu, that the meeting between the formal president and Yahaya Bello was a success.

He said the formal president was happy with the way governor Bello was tackling insecurity in his state, his development strides and youths mobilization across the country, and commended him to continue.

Mr. Mohammed stated that in response, the governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, prayed God to continue to sustain the formal president with good health, to continue his fatherly role in the country.

Recall that governor Yahaya Bello also had a meeting with popular, Nollywood Actress, Destiny Etiko, in the government house in Kogi.

The details of the meeting were, however undisclosed to the public by the governor’s media aides.
