Men of Oodua Peoples Congress, who were arrested on Sunday, by men of the Nigeria Police Force Oyo State Command, have been release following the intervention of governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Chief Gani Adams, leader of the group, Nationalwatchng reports.

The three arrested men were on Tuesday evening release from Oyo State Criminal Investigation Department Iyaganku, in Ibadan.

The OPC Coordinator in Oyo State, Rotimi Olumo who disclosed this said, that it was false that the three men committed murder and arson against Iskilu Wakili.

“The three men were released on bail today from the State Criminal Investigation Department in Iyaganku, Ibadan,” he said.

“The police released them on health condition; the three men are seriously ill and need urgent medical attention.

He further revealed that the men of OPC who arrested Wakili on Sunday, acted based on reliable information which the farmers of Kajola, in Ibarapa local government gave to OPC.

He alleged that Kajola community have been living in fear of Wakili, whom they allege to be in charge of criminal activities of kidnapping and destroying their farms with his cattle.

According to OPC Coordinator in Oyo State, Rotimi Olumo, the members of Kajola community also alleged that Wakili and his boys rape their women and daughters.

He stated that, “The police said the three of them should report regularly at the state CID for the ongoing investigation.”
