Sokoto To Abeokuta: Okorocha Visits Obasanjo For Presidential Bid

As the politicians gear up for the 2023 general election , Senator Rochas Okorocha of Imo state on Monday paid an undisclosed visit to Formal President Olusegun Obasanjo at his pent house in  Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta.

 

Sen Okorocha who was in the news earlier in the month for allegedly committing arson, was seen also in Sokoto state, where he took traditional title last week.

Okorcha formal governor of Imo state and the senator representing Imo West senatorial district in the National Assembly said, his visit to the Ota born formal president of Nigeria was to seek his idea and knowledge in line with his development agenda for the country.

Sen. Okorocha who disclosed the meeting on his twitter handle said,” I Paid a courtesy visit to Fmr. president Olusegun Obasanjo today at the Obasanjo Library Abeokuta, Ogun state… We must consult our elder statesmen from time to time to move the nation forward”.

 

Recall that Senator Okorocha, All Progressive Congress, stalwart, last week met with a group of youth in Abuja, under the umbrella of ‘Forward with Anayo Rochas Okorocha (FOWARO 2023)’ paid him a courtesy visit.

In the visit, Okorocha while addressing the youths said, “I have contested for the office of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria three times. The first time l ran when l was very young; 20 years ago, and l ran on the platform of ANPP.

 

“Later l ran on the platform of the PDP where l came second and the last one APC in 2014. So, l have been in the business of running for this office. This time, it will be the fourth attempt.

“I am hoping to be the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Every time l started, l got stopped at the primary level, but this time around when l do run, l must win the race,”
