RONWEN WILLIAMS – 5/10

The SuperSport United could do nothing about Uganda’s two goals. The Bafana Bafana defense was exposed.

Williams made one very good save to deny Shafik Kagimu’s long-range shot. Apart from that he was not too troubled by the Ugandan attackers during the game.

CRAIG MARTIN 5/10

Martin was heavily involved on both ends of the pitch but did not make much of an impact on either side.

He was poorly positioned when Ibrahim Orit scored and also threw himself into challenges in the in-goal area.

SIBUSISO MABILISO – 7/10

Mabiliso remained a threat on attack throughout the match. Making attacking runs down the left, constantly troubling Murushidi Juuko with his pace and physicality.

He was comfortable defensively too, looking secure at the back.

RUSHINE DE REUCK – 6.5/10

De Reuck gradually grew in confidence as the game progressed. He made some very well-timed interceptions and important clearances to keep Uganda at Bay.

He had a calming influence on his players and looked assured defensively.

NKOSINATHI SIBISI – 4/10

It was a very nervy debut by Sibisi. His mistake (a poor clearance) almost cost his side a goal. The intended clearance found Emmanuel Okwi who, thankfully, missed the opportunity.

He looked nervous and uncomfortable in his first start and was substituted at half-time.

DENWIN FARMER – 5/10

It was a frustrating evening for Farmer in his return to the national side.

Farmer looked vulnerable to Okwi’s speed and movements and was replaced at half-time.

INNOCENT MAELA – 5/10

Maela did not assist his defensive teammates as much as he should. He was often caught out of position. He failed to track back and prevent Okwi’s assist. Okwi crossed the ball which was headed home by Orit.

ETHAN BROOKS – 6/10

After a quiet first half, Brooks came out the tunnel looked lively in the second.

He caused the Ugandan defense problems with his darting runs through the middle. Looking dangerous and linking well with his players to be a constant threat on attack.

LEBOHANG MABOE – 6.5/10

Maboe had a decent showing. The most experienced player on the pitch kept the ball moving, continuously looking to get his side to press forward and attack.

He was involved in the build-up to Bafana Bafana’s first goal.

SPHELELE MKHULISE 7.5/10

Mkhulise was one of the stand-out performers on the pitch for Bafana Bafana. He was full of energy and creativity.

His sharp movements and passes caused headaches for the Ugandan defense. Mkhulise added an assist when Makgoba netted the third goal to top off a very strong showing.

BONGOKUHLE HLONGWANE – 7/10

Hlongwane had a good outing for the national side. He imposed his physicality in the Ugandan’s box. Making strong runs and bullying defenders in the box.

EVIDENCE MAKGOBA – 8.5/10

An excellent debut and display. He was Bafana Bafana’s super-sub and game-changer!

Makgoba was introduced into the second half and made an incredible impact off the bench. He was magnificent, scoring a brace and unsettling the Ugandan’s defensively all evening. Both of his goals were quality finishes. We have a future star in our midst.

THABISO KUTUMELA – 8/10

Kutumela made a strong impact off the bench. There was a visible change in Bafana’s style of play in the second half.

He came on at the same time as Makgoba, making a massive impact on the game.
