The Anti-Corruption Commission says it did not take part in investigating or prosecution of former Health permanent secretary Akakulubelwa Mulalelo and Honeybee Pharmaceuticals proprietor Ismael Jasat for alleged awarding of a tender to Honeybee Pharmaceuticals.
In a statement, ACC spokesperson Queen Chibwe stated that the ACC
concluded the investigations in May and the case file is now under the National Prosecutions Authority.
“Anti-Corruption Commission wishes to state that it did not take part in investigating or prosecution of the case publicized on social media yesterday in which former Permanent Secretary for Administration was acquitted together with 7 others over corruption charges connected to Honeybee Pharmaceuticals,” Ms Chibwe stated.
She stated that this comes in the wake of media queries to the Commission seeking to know whether the Commission was involved in the matter.
“As reported in our last media briefing in May this year, the Commission completed its investigations against Ms. Akakulubelwa Mulalelo and Honeybee Pharmaceuticals Proprietor Ismael Jasat for alleged irregular awarding of a tender to Honeybee Pharmaceuticals and the case file is now with the National Prosecutions Authority,” Ms Chibwe stated.
