A burglar locked in Durban store overnight

The owner of a Durban store found an alleged thief hiding behind a cabinet . the person was arrested on Friday morning.

An alleged burglar who broke into a Durban store had to take a seat back to attend for the owner after he locked himself within the store overnight.

“The shop owner made the surprise discovery when he entered the shop and noticed the shop had been ransacked,” said Blue Security spokesman Andreas Mathios

It was when the owner watched the CCTV that he need to know he was still present in his shop.

“Further investigation by the safety company on one’s guard duty revealed the suspect had somehow got himself locked inside the shop and spent the night behind a cabinet .”

“Blue Security was immediately dispatched to the scene and therefore the suspect was detained,” Mathios said.

He said he found the person with R4,000 cash and a number of other items useful he stole during the night.

“Metro police also skilled the scene. the shop remained closed for the morning. An investigation is being conducted by police” Mathios said.

However, the police didn’t attend to queries as regards the incident.
