Timo Werner reacts to Chelsea’s ‘disappointing’ draw after bagging brace

Timo Werner has expressed his frustrations at Chelsea’s draw with Southampton after he had put them into a commanding lead at Stamford Bridge.

The €58.45million summer signing got his first Premier League goals for the Blues on Saturday, opening the scoring after a quarter-hour and doubling his tally before the half hour.

But despite Chelsea looking in control, Saints’ striker Danny Ings halved the deficit on the brink of half-time, before Che Adams levelled the scoring shortly after the break.

Kai Havertz immediately put Chelsea back ahead and on track for victory, but a late equaliser from Jannik Vestergaard left the Blues – and especially Werner – ruing two points dropped.
