THE N3 TOLL CONCESSION HAS SOUNDED A NOTE OF WARNING TO MOTORISTS THAT THE BUSY SECTION OF THE HIGHWAY WOULD BE CLOSED FOR A PERIOD OF 15-MINUTES SUCCESSIONS UNTIL 1PM
The closure of N3 toll route on the brink of the De Hoek tract has begun since 10am and can continue for about three hours on Thursday.
The reason behind the closure is thanks to Eskom’s decide to remove overhead power lines.
The N3 Toll Concession (N3TC) has sounded a note of warning to motorists that the busy section of the highway would be closed for a period of 15-minutes successions until 1pm.
In a statement, the N3TC beckoned on motorists to plan ahead for the new development.
“This temporary closure is required by Eskom so as to dismantle and take away a decommissioned high-voltage transmission overhead power cable . Three-phase conductors are going to be removed sequentially during this era . A 15-minute full road closure is required per phase conductor to maneuver all across the road.”
“All traffic are going to be completely stopped during each of the 15-minute road closure periods, but will thereafter be allowed to flow for a 30-minute period until all three powerlines are removed.”
