Third day into funeral industry’s strike

The funeral industry located in Cape Town is getting to pack up on Wednesday.

Memorandum of demands are handed over to the house Affairs offices within the CBD by some demonstrators.

The shutdown is included within the 3-day funeral home strike that began on Monday.

Their demand is that they want an intervention from the govt to assist small black-owned undertakers receive operating certificates.

The undertaker’s shutdown protest began on Monday in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng provinces .

The Cape Town shutdown could pose serious implications towards the Muslim community, thanks to their burial rites which is meant to require place within 24 hours of death.
