Before Sundowns victory within the league cup, the Brazilians already won the Telkom Knockout and therefore the Absa Premiership.
Nathi Mthethwa, Minister of Sport, Arts, and Culture has sent his congratulatory message to Sundowns for achieving a historic treble feat.

And this demonstrated true Championship spirit once they remained focused despite adverse challenges of playing faraway from their home turf, and ahead of their “Ka Bo Yellow” fans.”
“Mamelodi Sundowns remained focused whilst playing during a Bio-Bubble environment, which wasn’t easy by managing to demonstrate courage and determination. I wish them luck as they now move forward in preparation to represent the country within the CAF Champions League competition for the 7th time during a row next year,” said Minister Mthethwa.
“I take this chance also to congratulate Bloemfontein Celtic for his or her gallant display despite being runners up within the Nedbank Cup, they need also qualified to participate within the Caf Confederation Cup next season. I wish them the simplest as they’re going to even be representing the country on the continent.”
