Blames government for lack of PPE for frontline workers

The National Education Health and Allied Workers Union (Nehawu) said the govt are looting funds with regard to scandals involving PPE tenders.

They said the funds are meant for the pandemic, but the govt are putting the frontline workers in danger by not providing PPE to them.

The union said the govt should be blamed for his or her failure in providing sufficient personal protective equipment (PPE) for health for workers.

However, on Friday, Nehawu will stage a protest within the least public health institutions with regard to problems faced by its workers in the fight against COVID-19.

Nehawu also mentioned that on Friday, picketing will begin by over 235,000 members and by next week Friday they’re going to cease from working altogether public health facilities.

The strike would definitely have a catastrophic effect on the health sector which involves nurses and doctors within the fight against the pandemic.
