Aisha Yesufu, the embattled co-convener of Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) campaign, has called on the National Assembly to impeach Buhari for showing “he doesn’t have the capacity to steer .”
todaytrend News in Nigeria reports that Yesufu, who could also be a robust critic of the All Progressives Congress (APC) government of President Buhari, made this statement on the micro-blogging site, Twitter in reaction to a call by the Nigerian Senate for Nigeria’s service chiefs to step aside because the country continues to grapple with security challenges.
The controversial human rights activist said instead of holding the service chiefs responsible of the happenings within the country, NASS members should impeach the commander-in-chief of the federal republic of Nigeria, adding that “anything in need of impeachment isn’t doing any service to Nigeria because we cannot await three more years with what we’ve now.”
She said, “The spokesperson to the president said that President Buhari is responsible of Nigeria which i totally accept as true with him “Buhari is responsible of the incompetence, the cluelessness, the corruption, the ineptitude that’s happening the country.
“He is responsible of the failure to protect the lives and properties of citizens. Buhari has always been responsible “When people begin to say Buhari isn’t responsible , that’s not so. He knows what’s happening .
“The bus stops at his table and it is time citizens begin to make demands on him. Call him out for what he’s , an absolute and total failure.
“The National assembly is asking for the sack of the service chiefs
“It isn’t about the service chiefs anymore; it’s about the commander-in-chief. He has obviously shown he doesn’t have the capacity to steer .
“It is time for the National Assembly to put its act together, to urge the middle and impeach the president.
“Anything in need of impeachment isn’t doing any service to Nigeria because we cannot await three more years with what we’ve now.
“It is time for the National Assembly, if they’re going to , to impeach President Buhari,” she said.
